. I wouldn't worry too much about those who are rude,
I'd be more afraid of how to respond to "Dead Silence" as a responce!

Man, I would seriously want to get a response like that at a con. No, really, that would be the best response I would ever get.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

At Jacon the video after mine began playing so quickly that there wasn't much time for applause so the responce I got was somewhat low. Not that I really care all that much for the video I entered but it was as close to a dead silence that I've received.

i would have to think dead silence would be good....cause then you can just say to yourself.."these people are too awe inspired to say/do anything....my vid ROCKS!!"

even if they are stunned to silence by how crappy it was

AWA has the best crowd even though the VAT isn't as big as other cons.

They cheered for everything even with the little time there was to applaud. :)

a few responses at otakon were really rude

for one, the entire room at a overflow showing groaned when the title card of a video showed it was using evanescence's my immortal (which had been used like two videos before). the video wasn't too bad, but it got completely ignored because everyone was too busy dramatizing their pain of hearing "my immortal" for the second time.

another was the last video of the main contest. it was a comedy and the plot was pretty much stale, but pretty much half the audience (several hundreds) left in the middle of the video. i would have been crushed if that was my vid.

not to say the audience can't dislike a vid and express it. just that they should still show some respect to the creator.

I lay most of the blame on whoever decided the order of the videos. He got the order of the Upbeat/Rhythm section perfect (IMHO), but the order for Humorous/Satirical was just... no.
The walking-out was exactly the kind of thing that could have been avoided with a little more planning.

And that's why I was really hoping that the list of finalists wasn't in show order.

Alright listen... Heres what you do.

If anyone boo's you, you walk over to them, stare them slowly in the eyes. Ask them why... oh why he(or she?) boo'ed you. Then if he gives no resonable anwser. You lean back and act like arnold swartzanager.
You lean over back into his face... And you punch him (anime style?).

You get up and you throw him to the side of the room, and you get all your friends to dog pile the SOB. When the cops finally come in, you have a legit excuse... I mean... He DID provoke you.

... WHat? It IS what you wanted to hear aint it?

at fanime 04.. i was sitting in front of two ladies and when my video came up they started saying stuff like "ohh no not the stalker song" and i wouldn't be surprised if others said the same thing...

just gota shrug it off... turned out a lot of people liked the video for what it was, dispite the songs "label". Ended up winning the catagory.

The small "bash" when my video was shown was completely overturned watching the other people in the audience react... when you see people crying to your video... you know you did something right
