Thats cuz todays young pups just don't know any better. Old school rap was the best. Often times had solid stories and good expression of emotion and self.(as someone already said) once in a blue moon theres a good song that comes out lately, but most of it is indeed crap.Pyle wrote:Fair enough, Fair enough. My bad.
I didn't mean to generalize every rapping lyric into this category, but really I just meant to state that most of the songs that I hear on the radio repeatedly hype mindless sex and drugs, freaky fatalities, and have bleeped out Fuck you!'s in between each chorus.
The majority is a bit like this, and it's not really my type of music.
However, although I don't really like Eminem's, Outkast's, or anyone other rappers' music, I do recognize that a few of them are extremely talented, especially Eminem. I just wish he would sing more stuff like 'Cause I live at home in a trailer!'.
As for the original topic question, I think RAP works well for Parody/fun/comedy vids depending on the song, Like in the case of Its Tricky. Outcast's Heya song might make a good parody/fun vid aswell. depends on the nature of the song in question.
In fact I have a long term plan for a vid using a comedy aproach to a rap song, but i wont get into details, until I'm closer to working on it. for fear someone may steal my idea ;p
