Yeah... but that's cuz they're asking for too much imo but ppl with ALOT of decent vids like Joe (Mabaroshi... though I've not heard from him for a while) or EK (Big Big Truck) or ALU and even little dudes like Omnistrata and DK ( ). When I registered as my real name people attacked me for trying to pretend under a well known name...as if I should make up some pen name to enter and write under because that one was taken...I'm too old to call myself some anime character anymore ^_~

I think that could be a turning point and that person is under more scrutiny than before, their arrogance or simple defense could be taken as elitism. On the other hand, there are people who don't fit this at all who just act like an editing genius from the get go.

I had been watching this place for a while before I joined and don't notice a lot of acts of privlege, but when I do, it always caused a rift...as if an invisible mutual respect had been ruptured. They tend to be forgotten but not completely and some people seem to have left as to not get invloved, targeted, or become part of the mob themselves. There is no other answer than to just let it all go, but I just don't see that ever happening in any competitive field.

Actually, most people use their real name when submitting a video to a contest....the other people use a studio name. I think the majority of people who submitted to AWA went by their names...are you trying to say someone actually is keeping track and wants to hunt down the AMV makers of the world, making credit cards in our name and failing because we're all really poor and have no money???

dam that was all messed up but anyway...

somebody brought up that all annoying quote, 'if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all' I really hate that quote... 2000+ hits and 0 opinions proves it ;-p. I think those ~2000 ppl may be misinterpretting that quote, they're only thinking about the other person and not themselves! Imagine that... anyway it's nice for them (and other ppl that like to hear ppl flame) but just not for that one other, doesn't make it bad. In fact once the 'flamee' calms down s/he would likely learn from it! But IF it is a comment that NOBODY can learn from than it is not nice because nobody is getting any good from it. get it? So intelligent flaming IS good!! somebody really should write a FAQ on how to properly flame.

alternatively I also hate it when, like <insert I ferget his name here> said, somebody says something like 'oh but others won't see this cuz I'm not l33t enough'. Oh take your self pity somewhere else (and yes ppl put themselves down b4 giving themselves a chance ALOT... probly a dozen times in this thread alone). I wish ppl would be more selfish... or at least have some (not too much) pride.
