AMVs: A Lifetime Addiction?

this point is made every year, but yeah, the past few years i'd agree with it. and people have touched on what i think is one of the main factors - youtube, and to some extent other popular social websites like facebook.

the mods and admin have recently had a discussion on this, and i am hopeful that the website will get a fresh coat of paint, soon.

i personally use valve time, as it is simpler and more accurate.

Meh, I haven't been here very long but I don't see myself ever leaving this hobby. And it may be because I am newer here but I don't think the hobby is shrinking. Growth on the org might be slowing, I don't know, but other sites have certainly expanded recently, especially the Russian community. Youtube and the like of course add to it.

I think it's mostly because people who are casual AMV'ers just want to hear "ZOMG KAWAII UR AWESUM" and youtube gives that to them. But for people interested in the hobby and bettering themselves, they stick around here. And usually that requires some pretty strong self-esteem or severe brain damage.. It's not for everybody's taste.

Plus, unless you really just find people around here that keep you intertwined in the community, they're not going to stick around. We're all like one big happy dysfunctional family around here.

I don't know french so I'm not even going to bother with that, and their domain doesn't expire until 2014 (I did a WHOIS lookup).

animemusicvideos.com however is owned by some random in California. I emailed them asking if I could perhaps acquire the domain. That registration doesn't expire until 2012.
