By this logic, you should abandon learning and there will be no sorrow. However, this all assumes that the Real is tempered by impermanence. However, the Real is not an ephemeral concept, it something true we must strive for a glimpse of.Cap'n Toddenfreude wrote:I have found in earlier discussions about this topic that it is all mainly opinion. Re: What is art?
Just thowing this out there, what I saids not an opinion, it's a goddamn fact. The subjective question is never what art is, but what is art. The term it's self is a noun, and a damn objective definition.Vivaldi wrote:Seeing this —probably being a troll thread— has already been deluged in bullshit, I'll keep it at.
Art is anything created deliberately by humans with the first and foremost purpose being the stimulation of emotion. It's as simple as that really. Being "art" does not presume whether a work is good or not, so most of the debate comes in from deciding whether something is good or shit.

Actually, trying to determine what art is, can be an extremely subjective quest since, "art" is not a concretely definable term.

Art is anything you can trick some putz into thinking is deep, meaningful, and most importantly, worth paying money for.

Re: What is art?
Okay, because people find playing with semantics so funny, I'll add an addendum.
-Art is anything created deliberately by humans with the first and foremost purpose being the stimulation of emotion though our natural senses, or through conscious thought.
Please tell if you find a loophole, but all that generally means is a need to reword for semantic reasons. The meaning is the same. And art is still an objective term
