I've got it working for 9 videos, and it's failed once...the one in question was because of the song "Avenue Q - Schadenfreude", but ye...doesn't work always but does seem to very often.godix wrote:I did that once. 4) Scroll down and pick the option "Take me to the dispute form".
5) Pick option #2 and PASTE the following statement into the text bar next to it;
"Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use."
6) Fill out the rest of the info on the page. Use your REAL name where it asks for it. Choose "Continue" when all information has been filled out.
7) Scroll down on the next page and select "Submit dispute".
jsut do that, AMV's seem to fall under ''fair use'' - they always get put back up with an i-pod advert...

Even though I know that AMV's are helping the anime companies by making free advertising, and even though I think banning randomly AMV's videos is stupid and/or unfair, it's still copyrighted material and there is nothing to do about it. I can't imagine anyday soon Youtube with a brand new title saying "Now allowing AMVs!"
Unfortunately, "Fair use" can't be used as an excuse, maybe it will sound nice and some youtube mod will let it pass because he reads the whole paragraph and is like "Oh..", but I bet most wouldn't and would remove the video right on.
Before my account was banned, IIRC, they asked me to remove one video, or else all my account would've been closed. I removed it. But it was closed days after that. That's the way they do it.

It's generally the music that you have to worry about, that can be considered full on theft.Pankyy wrote:Even though I know that AMV's are helping the anime companies by making free advertising, and even though I think banning randomly AMV's videos is stupid and/or unfair, it's still copyrighted material and there is nothing to do about it. Though sometimes the artist in question could be pretty cool. It's rare as all hell, but I remember seeing a rubyeye video featured on Kamelot's website many years ago. I believe it was from the anime "Bastard!" and it featured the song "Karma."

When they mute my songs, I leave them muted.
Music companies need to change, and by me disputing, it's just helping them not to change. We live in a different world then 20 years ago. Unfortunately, some of them still think it's 1989, and until they get a clue, I'm not helping them advertise on the tube.
Kudos though to the companies that used some of my amvs to advertise there music by leaving links to itunes

It's not so much the record labels nowadays as it is the RIAA's fault for the 9/10 videos removed from the 'Tube. Its just a powerful group flexing its muscle in order to scare us straight because they have to "protect" the artists. If anything, The Riaa just needs to go, or loosen up and quit being so anal.LuluandAuron wrote:
