I don't like the new interface. plus you can't change your settings after you create the project.

#2 Alright, but you can have sequences with settings that are different to your project settings. That's still nice if you ask me.

You can't change the settings in the sequence either, IIRC.

If you feel like wasting a lot of time and generally failing to find a workable solution, you could reformat your computer to run xubuntu and use blender vse for editing. It'd be faster if your hardware is outdated.
