Nya-chan Production studio (to which I shortly after changed my nick as well) is based by the need for something to unify my art recollection.
I am not doing only AMVs, but I have been doing graphics as well for some time. All this time, I wasn't really publishing it under any name, but the making of AMVs called for something that would say: "Hey, it's me!"
But under what name? Wolfii as on one forums? Wolfi on others? Kotomi? Or some from my other 935 IRC nicks?
In the end I went with "Nya-chan Production". Nya-chan is the way some people started calling me on IRC, because I have a habit (because of my changing of nicks) of adding suffix -nya to my name. Thus Nya-chan was born, and as it can be used with any of the mentioned before, I decided to go with it.
There is also the word "Production", not "Production<b>s</b>". I know it should be the latter (mainly because I produce many pieces in random art areas), but I went wih the other option - to point out that I work alone. No-one gets this part anyways, but I like it nevertheless. :x

"A Katie's Web Sight!! Production"
This tag-line I was using a long time before I got into amvs... Also, I was entirely aware at the time that I spelled website wrong, however I thought I was being clever as well. I was also 16 or 17 when I came up with it... (I have had people both jokingly and seriously trying to correct my spelling on that O.o weirdos.)
I used to run about a dozen different websites on free site servers that were all very confusing to navigate, and my original site was called "Katie's Web Sight!!" so I figured it would be a good way for people to identify the fact that they were all connected and updated/created by the same person...
"My Cat Is Pestering Me" came about during a random goof up but I decided to use it to fix the navigation issue and create a "site map" for all of them, and I've kept that as my main url since.
I actually have a Site History written up on my site if you are interested in that..
Either way my "studio name" spawned off of my "website production" name...

No one seems to know the true history behind |: Serious Business Studios
. Records from the period indicate that there are several different origin stories. Scholars hold out hope that we may eventually discover a document or set of documents that will give us the key to understanding where the studio came from.

the first group i started back in the day was Pork Sausage Productions, honestly the name came to me and the dirty old man via sleep depravation, and i cant think of what sparked the name.
Globocide productions comes from from me a dethmajor searching for a good name for a brutal metal video outfit(which since has evolved to non-violent videos as well) the name wasn't taken from the oblongs, it more or less was evolved from genocide.
