What do you call an AMV when you use live action movies?

hmmm, so dark with some brainwork involved combined with some violence/sex. FMA is a good one.

Um, those were what I came up with off the top of my head that fit (Either as dark/violent, or mind-fuck/alternate reality, or both.)

I'd like to see something dark (so no kiki's delivery service), intellectual, with enough violence/sex where it's appropriate (but probably not too much hentai). The kind of show/movie that says something about life, and makes you think, but not too weird. There are a lot of cultural differences betwen america and japan, so we just don't understand as much about anime as japanese people would.

Elfen Lied.

Dark and itellectual makes me think of Ergo Proxy. No sex to speak of, but it's a good show as well.

And I'll x3 or x4 Elfen Lied. Whatever number we're on at this point. I don't feel like counting how many people have suggested it. =\

I jsut saw kite.. it was ok. kind of hard to follow the first time through. the guy with the goatee was a cop, who has sawa (the girl) kill people, just cuz he's a sick bastard. Is that right?

I'm gonna watch FMA and elfen leid next. that one isn't about elves, is it? lol

ive always refered "MMV" to Manga Music Videos..

and LAMVs and Vids are usually what we term videos that are not anime.. Vids imho covers all kinds of MVs no matter what you put in the front of the M and V.

DMV is Disney Music Video...

lol disney music video.. to me, DMV is the department of motor vehicles, where you stand in line from 10am to 4:25pm and finally get your license

I've watched the first 5 episodes of elfen leid so far, it's pretty good. its the kind of show that makes you want to watch one after another after another. If I can think of a good AMV to do to it, i'll definitely post it on these forums. so far, no songs come to mind.

...and as for terms for videos that are not anime, I think it's just becasue they don't have much of a community online. Sure, there are lots of them out there, but we don't even know what to call them. Some guy was drunk one night and thought, "I should make a matrix video to RIVERDANCE!!" (check it out. it sucks. it's on youtube. search for it.) but there isn't much of a coherent community for such things (even if they are way better than the afore mentioned video)
