People have stolen my Naruto Ball Z video, removed the credits, and changed the song on youtube.

The irony is that TV Tokyo asked youtube to remove the one I uploaded myself and kept all the other ones alive :x

The worst I ever really had was someone stealing my shitty Air video "Once Upon A Time." They removed my credits and replaced the song. When I came to them about their theft they claimed that I was the one who stole the video from them and that it was only coincidence that mine synced up with the song (while their's didn't sync at all)

Oddly enough, a self proclaimed "hacker" came along, pm'd me telling me how this person had pissed them off, and destroyed their youtube account from the inside out o.O

Other than that, I've had some uploads to youtube of my videos, but so far all of the ones I've found and contacted have given me proper credit and apologized.
(one even re-uploaded the video with my credits attached after they said their brother had hacked them off =P)

I've also been accused of theft. My video "Has Anyone Fed The Dog?" had a random spammer on youtube accusing me of not only stealing the video, but of sabotaging them in a 1998 convention in which I had supposedly stolen the VHS tape of the entries and thrown it down a stairway thus not only ruining the contest, but preventing them from winning.

Damn, I was an amazing 8 year old =P

I found Hello Moon, Goodbye Kitty on some Korean site. Only the title was in English, so not sure what the comments said, but they left my full credits on the vid, so I don't really mind. The only vid of mine I ever found on youtube was my crapy FMP Don't Be Late Sousuke vid. Which they took credit for and tacked some Naruto vid on the end for the 'credits'. (Seriously, the "credits" were as long as, if not longer than, the "featured AMV." And sadly, better than it. :?) I was sorely tempted to get a tube account so I could leave a message saying that the vid really sucks. I mean, hey, it's my vid, I can say what I want about it. :P But the vid has since been taken down.

I don´t know of any cases where somebody claimed credit for my work, but I like to search my vids and stuff over google. I even found my Deus Machina vid on gametrailers.com wich really surprised me.

Searching is intereressting ^^

I think the funniest instance I came across was this guy on myspace, he had uploaded my "Walking in the Butterflies" video along with jihaku and several other top 10% videos.

He didn't cut all my credits, but he did cut the splash screen, and cut the credits just before my email at the end, so the rest of the credits were there.... He even retitled several of the other videos... (He didn't retitle mine because the title was in the video)

All I had to do to get him to take them down was to go through and give the real name of all the videos in the comments and one by one they were taken down..

Kinda felt like an honor having my video up among the rest of those though... but stylistically all the videos were very different.

just the other day Rina pointed out one on youtube who cut all her credits at the end up left up the splash screen, it only had two videos up so on one i left a comment that said:

"Rina! you got a new account!"

and on the other video:

"don't lie Rina, you didn't make this"

She commented something about how she didn't know AuN had a new member...

I've not gotten a response yet, he probably just deleted my comments. However, he did claim that he had several accounts on the org and that you could find his other videos here O.o

in general I don't mind when people upload my videos cause 99% of them don't take credit for them, or as long as my original credits are left in then I'm not worried cause the credits speak for themselves.

Most people are pretty good about taking stuff down once they're caught.....however, there's been a few that just insist on living in denial LOL
~~~~~~~~~~~~
The funniest instance was, I was watching a Dynasty Warriors video and I recognized the first half of the video belonged to an editor named Kelso, so I was yelling at the screen....then the second half of the video came up, and it was my video.
One fellow at the tube used to steal bits and pieces of my DW videos. I'd talk to him and try to explain the ethics. Well finally (LOL) he figured out that it would be good to credit me.......he uses my name and studio to get hits >_<
I also have a "self proclaimed Vampire" (*rolls eye* he probably couldn't find Transylvania on a map if he tried) who stole my edits and added a new song. He boasts about all the hard work he put into the video. People have flamed him and he admits stealing it too, but won't take it down. I'm convinced he thinks he has special powers LOL
I've had people ask me, especially new editors to use some of my clips. I don't mind so much as they usually can't get a hold of some of the games or don't know how to get clips. Once I point them to a tutorial, they are very happy to get there own clips.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

One of my friends had their editor identity stolen. The person had all the information exactly the same, even personal information. That was rather creepy.

I agree JaddziaDax, if people leave the credits and don't claim it as there own, that's all good.

My one story along these lines:

One of my older videos got a huge influx of new downloads. I had never seen anything of the like. Eventually I found the the 'tube video causing all the interest. Over 280,000 views (This is alot to me... A whole lot). He may not have asked my permission or credited me properly, but I didn't care. The video in question has since been taken down. This is just me but I have to say, that removal was far more upsetting to me then any "He hasn't credited me right!" could have ever been.
