Can't say I'm surprised at all really. though the place was cool and all this was doomed to happen. To be fair I wish it happened to the tube first.

It won't happen to the tube, because they have brokered deals out with like every major group that could sue them. Free advertising for them in exchange for token preventative measures.

Veoh is a "decent" alternative. It's higher quality than you--tube, but they seem to decimate the framerate :\ Blah. iMeem is probably the best alternative since it's good quality, same framerate. Drawback there is, the actual resolution is smaller. :\

Yet, for some reason I think eventually the tube will be attacked and go through some legal preceedings.

H.264 in flash is here, so sites like youtube might be offering up higher quality soon.
