Funny, actually thought about the first question myself a little while ago...
1) I have way too many editors I like for different reasons.
If I had to limit my choice to three "top" editors, well, it'd be Janzki, Tsunami Jones and jasper-isis. For one because there hasn't been a video from them in my memory that I didn't enjoy/appreciate/laugh at.
The former two just have great (artsy? weird?) ideas, and unlike some editors they always seem to hit the spot as far as execution on it too. The latter has a great editing approach, doesn't shy away from creative risks, and has awesome amounts of flow-by-the-way-of-subtlety in her videos.
Otherwise there's lots of people whose work I'll always follow. I'd say there's a good 3 dozen editors whose stuff I'm near-equally interested in for various reasons.

Seriously, you've got a pretty good attitude towards improving without going all Pokemon-like ("I'll be the best there ever was!") on it. In due time you'll be making kickass videos.

I haven't seen Shaister on for a while, but I really hope he shows up with more videos sometime. He's really got me excited with his last two videos. And Copycat Revolver definitely deserves a shout-out!
Not to make GfN sound like a noob, but especially after his latest release, I'm totally convinced we ain't seen half of what this guy can pull off if he keeps at it
