Romance and drama AMVs for me due to the fact that they carry more of an emotional impact and often feature a lot of internal synch (which I personally like). After that I'd have to say dance videos.

Ill probably go with the music vs. the actual scene.

because its hard to make an AMV that uses a song to a single Anime haven't you
notice that there are lots of AMV that uses lots of Anime in their video. Its quite easy to run out of situation/scene to use when using 1 anime alone so its much harder.

In general, I like watching anime that has 1) good music and 2) good sync. It's true that while my most favorite videos are generally mood sync and are quite serious/emotional, you have to really get into it, meaning know the anime and fully understand the editor's message. The only romance/serious video that I liked without knowing the anime first was Waking Hour by Koop.

And since those types of videos are hard to find, I usually find myself browsing through comedy/action AMVs about the shows I know with the music I like.
