No.

I'm working on an AMV right now, and I'm finding that the less I plan, and the less concretely I plan - the better. I don't tend to take notes in general; all my better videos came off with as little jotting-down and conscious planning as possible.

It is just about impossible for me to plan things, or at least to put things down on "paper." If I do any planning, it's all in me head. Otherwise, I pretty much just go with the flow of things

I draw a snake and add feet to it.

Some people do it, though mostly I've noticed this is only for videos that have either created their own story or are more of a "music video" style where they are more about style and theme than telling a story. Other than that I don't think most people do, I myself have never drawn one, I get teh video out in my head and the rest of it I find while sifting through the anime I chose.

Most of the time I have a good image about how it should be. The raw stuff. I think that it turned out good.

One of my friend first cuts all the good clips out of the episodes and than decide what he places where. I think it´s a good method, but you need patient first, because it takes time before you really start, but afterwards: It´s easy.

Now I sometimes place keyframes in Premiere (yeah of course everybody does in Premiere ;) ) and double click them to write something into the comment section. It´s a good trick and I think I should keep doing it.

Sometimes I write down the style of effects I would like to use.

I don't draw storyboards but I tend to to make short notes about ideas I'm gonna use for future projects (since most of the time I have very clear ideas for 2-3 vids) so I won't forget the one I find really interesting even if it take few months.

I tried complete pre-planning before actual editing once, and then the amv changed completely during production, so the only thing I got from this was really detailed notes about all the instruments and all the changes in the music.

Nah, I just listen to the song a few times until I can get a general idea of what needs to be in what part of the song with the footage I'm using. Kinda get a rough sketch of it in my head.

Szwagier, don't tell me you didn't draw out the plans for Children's Draw Book, lol.
Man that video was weird : /
I plan very little. I mostly make shit up as it comes along. Kinda like "this song is cool" "I like this anime" "they could go together and i could make a AMV :o " "STROBESTEOBESTROBEBADEFFECTSSTROBE" "Done : /"

I mostly try to keep ideas in my head, i'm not that organized so i stand a better chance of remembering it if i DON'T put it somewhere where i can lose it.
