My take on the tracks that I've seen:
Smoke: A good action vid with nice effects, humorous use of the DDR combo syste, some DDR arrows for effect, and a good choice of scenes. The synch seems fine to me, and even the lead in and out are amusing.
AM-3P: DANCING GUNDAMS! ON DANCE PADS! This vid is pretty damn awesome. The song, the synch, the effects.. just everything. It's GREAT.
Have You Never Been Mellow: This was prettyy boring, but the song is kind of boring as well... that never helps, so we can definitely see that Kwasek was up against a tough situation. The use of rejected is clever, the synch is pretty good, btu I just couldn't get into it.
Make it Better: Holy jeez, this is fantastic. Great effects, good synch, awesome scene transition, and the use of Adobe Premiere footage is ingenious!
Kung Fu Fighting: Nice video with good action scenes that definitely fot the song. I thought it all synched up real nice, so don't listen to what the previous bitter reviewer had to say.
Let's Get Down: If you look at my animemusicvideos.org profile, this is my #1 favorite video.. There's a very good reason for that.
Get Up 'n' Move: The first time I watched it, the song didn't catch me, the video seemes only halfway decent, and the overall synch just struck me as weird. I watched it agian and thought it was a little better. I was starting to get into the song, too. By the third watching, I could see how much effort was put into this. Lyric synched text, good transitions, great use of scenes. And no, I am NOT just kissing William's ass on this, despite that I consider myself a fan of his! This video is good!
SP-Trip Machine: FOr a video that uses almost nothing but still images and some random dancing people, this is pretty fucking kick ass. WAY better than Tim's previous video in the first project, which had a tremendous amount of footage, but was just.. boring...
So Tommy, where's your good videos? Oh wait, I've never seen a good video come outta your ass. You can scream about your Zebrahead video all you want, but the only part of that video that's good at all is the part where Naru says "We never screwed", ok? You're too full of yourself. You wanna talk about the people in the DDR Project acting all high and mighty? Take a step back and look at yourself. You're more bitter than a dark ale. You're entitled to your opinion, and it's fine that you wanna insult these people, but that just makes me feel like I should toss a little something back at you and put you in your place. All you ever seem to do is complain, and you're too damn worried about technical aspects of videos. If you concern yourself too much with "art form", you're gonna miss out on some of the fun. I'll admit that off-beat transitions, bad lipsynch, and weird ootage choices can be a little obnoxious, but Jesus Christ, that's no need to fucking explode int hese peoples' faces. They took their own time, made these videos for other people to enjoy, and got nothing in return. It's the same way with all AMV creators. I don't think too many of us are all that concerned with recognition, but more or less are just concerned with making something cool or fun or funny or even in some cases, something sad, bad, horrific, or just plain wretched. Whatever your aim is, keep in mind that we're all fans, we all make AMVs (Well most of us), and none of us are professional, nor shoudl we even START to claim to be pros.
And sure, start up a rival DDR Project. It's not like they have rights on doing the only one. It's not like they have rights to that music. I wanna say to everyone out there, if you wanna participate in a DDR project, and Tommy starts one, I say jump on. It'd be good competition. I think it'd be cool to have Tommy start up a 4th mix project and have it play against the other one or something. Kind of alike a battle of the DDR Projects. Mind you, a friendly competition, but still a competition none the less. But Tommy, you should do it out of a want to make a cool project, not because you wanna show up all these so called asshole editors who think too much of themselves. To me, Hsien seems like a cool guy. To me, ErMaC seems like a cool guy.. he knows his shit. He's not particularly mean. Same thing goes for Aluminum, Doki Doki, Brad DeMoss, etc... any others you can name that people generally think of as being the more prominent AMV creators. They're OK guys, I tell ya. They'r enot out to hurt anyone, and they're having fun making something cool for the fans. Is there something wrong with that?
I may not like your Zebrahead video, but I know there's people out there who do. It's all opinion, but there's no reason to attack. ANd yes, I apologise for the attack on you earlier in this post. That was kind of showing you what I mean by how attacking someone like that can hurt. It's not cool at all, ok?
Have fun, be nice, and don't fight! That goes for everyone! I mean it! I'm tired of hearing people being pissed at each other!
Ok I'm done... whew.
