'sto, there are too many clouds covering Iraq for us to be able to pinpoint the location of the insurgents with that photo...
At any rate, I think that the mods here do a great job keeping everything pretty neat and orderly. And the community at large is fairly open and helpful to newbies. Plus, it helps that there is a giant carrot here in the form of downloads. But inthesto basically summed it up.

Seriously though, I think a large part of it comes from the fact that the amvs are hosted locally. Everybody who comes has access to them, unless they use evanescence, seether, creed, or don't understand hosting. Games on the other hand you have to own, that's up to the individual to obtain it. Everything from the guides to the product to the people, all localized, where as gaming communities are spread out, and as mentioned before, there are tons of gaming websites, however a-m-v.org is THE Org.
As for getting more people to gamezone, pimp. Spam some crap on hosatchel, spam 4chan, spam whatever great gathering of forumites, or as firefox would correct, sodomites, you can find. Offer a section for members to post their game play videos hosted on hosatchel. Unique content, or just collect HUGE amounts of information so that you can hold a good piece of the market share on where to find your gaming information.
Allow me to ask a question in turn, WHY do you want more people in the first place? Is lack of attendence a bad thing? If no ones interested, or you just have a small user base, as long as the running costs don't outstrip the revenue, whether in personal satisfaction or monetary, does it make that much of a difference?

There's the 'I'm only in this for the e-penis so how do I get famous' discussion. There's the 'u tube stole my video' discussion. There's the 'i hate/love special effects' discussion. I think that covers the last year or so.Orwell wrote:Lulz, what discussion?godix wrote:general AMV discussions.
