I was going to answer 'as many cons as you can so many audiences can be nauseated by your pathetic attempt at editing' but it looks like Bashar here basically said the same thing first.

When I first got into submitting to competitions, probably quite a number of them. After a while, it's more just either the ones that seem to have a big crowd or ones which asked them of me. And of course most of the Australian competitions

I usually submit AMVs to cons after repeated reminders from other editors to do so.

Even so, I'll usually submit a video to only one contest at a time, and not re-submit to anything if it wins.

Honestly, I'm about the least competitive person in the world.

Uhm... I submit my amvs more often when it is allowed (different conests), but I only submit to contest I´m interessted into and when I think, that it is worthy for an audience.

I've never submitted anything. I'm always too lazy to read the inscription info (my own fault for only going to the convention webpages at 4 A.M. ...)

if my video wins at some cons, i try not to send it to any more cons...

but if they dont win i dont mind spreading around the misery lol or whatever... i like getting my videos viewed more than anything,

but i have never enterd the same video to every convention i have entered...

theres several of my videos i have "retired" i wont enter them into conventions anymore.

I'll usually max out at one big con (AWA, Otakon, AX), and then one small con. Or if it wins anything at the first con, I don't submit it anywhere else. Unless a contest is hurting for entries and the coordinator asks for entries or something.
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

I'll enter if I finish one. Promise - to enter, that is, the finish part is entirely up in the air.

it's against the rules in ACEN AMV contests to submit a video that has already been shown at another convention. (but that's the only one i've ever been to, anyway.) so if that's not a rule at other competitions, you could show a video at ACEN first, then send it to the others. i've never entered any other contests, but if i do, i'll follow that method.
