There are a wealth of programs that can help you accomplish your editing.
I believe they're on the top sticky of video software help (goes to check)
yup, it's there.

besides being against site rules, downloaded footage is [generally speaking] sub par to dvd footage.but if that's all you can get...
my point is that lack of software shouldn't be an issue here.

When I started making amvs (back in last August) I had to start from scratch...and with a 56-k dail-up.
Luckily, nearly all of the little programs and codecs are only a few hundred KB to about 4 MB each, so it shouldn't take long even on dailup

Why can't you download anything? What's your computer setup like?

Having no video programs, a sucky dialup modem, and no means of downloading
anything off the net has never sucked so much as it does now...

Too bad Majindan is working on Digital Paradox and Navras...
you dont need to download anything to make amvs... cept maybe the AMV APP and its well worth the time

all you need is a DVD Rom, amv app, and a video editorer... hell AMV APP comes with Virtualdub Mod if you really want to you can use it to edit... its a difficult program but it can be used to make amvs...

when i started I used WMM and whatever i could get my hands on, it might take time to learn, but in the end its worth it so you dont end up fighting people over their "creative differences"

"Darkness Studio Is"? Remove the apostrophe and my head will pound a little bit less.

It was an in-joke from a long time ago.

Interesting joke, even though I don't get it. :P

Problem is, I can't be online for that long, and my internet speed is so slow
that a small file takes OVER AN HOUR just to download. Gah, I got seriously
chewed out the other day by my folks for taking 5 hours to get back my fave
AMV that I lost when my harddrive got screwed during the summer (the vid
in question was Quicksilver Studio's "Chuunin Kombat"; oh how I love that...).

So UPLOADING is big issue, too. The other problem I have is that I have NO
clue at all how to use a video editing program and it's driving me bonkers...

(look at it this way; a 27 year old who's internet savvy, but a tech idiot)

You're really good with excuses! Please stop now. They all translate to "I don't want to bother, so do it for me."

It's unlikely that you're going to find a cute, whippable editing love slave to do your bidding, creative and awesome though it may be. It happens sometimes, but not often.

Seriously, it's fun. OVER AN HOUR to download a program isn't much compared to the hours you're asking of others. And you'll learn! I knew squat about editing when I started, and now I know 0.75 squat. And gaining. Most people learn way faster than that. Learning is fun, too.

You're really only cheating yourself out of the enjoyment of trying it yourself by making up excuses not to, IMO. If you have great ideas, we could always use more good editors. Please become one. :)
