Exactly. As you said, if someone submit an op with several high scores without say nothing, it's not that unfair, as that person wanted to congrat him/herself with you but it's by Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrr too lazy to even write something. At least, they took 15 seconds of their time to op your video, and in the end is something that is possible to appreciate. Even if context is always what opinion means. An opinion should be what anyone think about something, and rarely this means a comment of 2 to 5 words. The opinions on the site also exists for feedback, though, so they exist to let people critic other's works, to criticize their jobs, for show their opinions about what's wrong "here and there", and also what they loved. Of course, an op with 1s and 2s, without comments, it's something like think "thanks man you helped a lot", an opinion with 1s and 2s with criticism that make even that ONE something with sense, it's quite different, even if probably a "wtf" is inevitable. :)

so i'm new at this site and i haven't posted a video yet (still struggling with my first {mumbles curses}) so i don't know what it feels like to get a bum review and the like or a good one for that matter. But i can say, once i start posting video's i would like at least slightly detailed reveiw to know what i did good or wht to improve on. So there it is, my input to this thread :wink:

Lazy, but you can't really hate them, they usually give all 9s and 10s. But I got an op the other day with a scores ranging from 5-7, an overall of 6 and the only comment was "Needs no explanation". What a fucktart! Being strict is OK (the scores were extremely strict but could still plausibly be applied to our AMV if your standards are high enough) but to not give any actual feedback and then act as if your scoring is obvious (implying the AMV obviously doesn't deserve any better) is the height of arrogance. It's seriously brought down the average of the AMV (which only has 3 ops, the other two have markedly higher scores) and has me spitting chips.

Doesn't this just piss you off when this happens?
no only you :twisted: look buddy it was you first amv out of 4, most ppl don't want to hear regurgitated comments about their first amv when they have other stuff that has since improved. That is what 'needs no explanation' means. I'm sure it was a misunderstanding but you yourself says it sucks, I don't see what your being so defensive about. Yes I have and use 2 screan names.

I don't know why but I feel the need to point out that this is still my favorite op I've ever recieved.

Heh. My favorite opinion I've ever received is this one, by far. It's been almost two years since getting that one, and I still get a laugh out of it. :D

On how much to write on opinions, I tend to try and write up a bit about what I liked and disliked irrelevant of what scores I'm giving- but I think I tend to write more with videos that I score a bit lower, usually because there were things that I saw that could have been done better that I want to point out so the editor will have some useful input to take into consideration when making future videos.

i recieved an opinion that was all 1s-4s the other day, and i was not sure to laugh or want to stab them in the head.... in the end it looked like this:

~~~~~~~~~~~
"Ratings
Orig Visual Sound Synch Lip Effects Effort Re-View Overall
3 4 1 2 1 4 3 3
Good great try!
Bad the song was awful
General practice makes perfect
~~~~~~~~~~~
Creator youre hilarious. this video is old. the song is the shit... you try harder.

ok, maybe a longer explination:
what does it matter, you didnt read video description so it wouldnt matter anyways... do the world a favor and read the video description next time...

doesnt seem you check replies anyways"
~~~~~~~~~~~
But the annoying thing is they told me to "practice" judging on a video that I made a year and a half ago... and I also added in links to more recent videos on the video description (before she left me the opinion). but they were too lazy to read the description to care or be able to tell that I have indeed practiced.. (now I dont think I am great or anything, but deffinately alot improved since my first video!!) but it was also annoying cause I made the video a year before they joined the site....
the only other time I came across an opinion that bothered me was some guy who only said "you know what you did wrong" but he changed his op atleast 3 times in that day because i asked him to explain. which in the end i was satisfied with....
the above has yet to explain her scores or lack of intelligence...
