I have a couple videos planned for next year. I'll probably be entering in AWA Pro, Anime Evolution (gotta support the Canadian cons :) ) and maybe Otakon. Sierra's going to be in Vancouver (she's going to film school there!) when Anime Evolution is on, so I'm trying to convince her to go to the con as well.

With all the multi-editor projects popping up, I hope we get a VCA category for best multi-editor project. We need one.

But I'm really wondering what will get vid of the year...

I dunno what to think.
I just edit, I'm no critic. However I do feel that this year was alot better.

I noticed an increase of international AMV creators this year especially the Europeans.

MORE MASKING!!!!

*ahem*

As concerns me personally, 2005 will be the year I finally get some of these lingering ideas off my "to do" list. If I'm lucky, I'll make half a dozen vids or more (as opposed to 3 last year and two this year, not counting MEP's).

As concerns AMVs in general, well... I expect there'll be a great batch of Romance videos this summer, as everyone and their mother goes after DW's title at Otakon :D

I also expect the continued proliferation of Azumanga Daioh dance videos (to an even greater extent than before) now that the whole series is out. Naruto doesn't look to be losing steam anytime soon either, even though none of the series is out (stateside, that is).

The European presence on the Org will probably continue to increase.

2004 wasn't a bad year for MADs, with Vic's Otakon-winning video and the arrival of Pianos and Kaichi (and others?). Don't want to make a call on where that trend is going though.

Hopefully there will be a trend of good-looking NGE videos (or remasters of old ones) with the release of Platinum. :)

Codecs and filters will continue to improve (someone inform me if/when the Dust filters are improved), and more editors may start using alternative formats.

2005 will see far fewer videos featuring drawn things from me. In fact, I'll be genuinely surprised if I make an anime video in 2005. Keep a look out for plenty of Female Convict Scorpion and Stray Cat Rock: Sex Hunter videos though :P

Yup. And from Russia, too.

2005 should be better, I made nothing for this year...

Laziness won't own me next year though. More freetime is on my way...

^^

And yes, I'm trying to lay off the dance vids.

Depends on what part of Russia they're from :P

At least 80% are in Europe...

Anyway, I think it's been a good year, both for me and for the community in general, but my hunch is that 2005 could really shape up great if some of the trends for which seeds have been sown in 2004 continue to develop. 2004 has not been the year of the MEP, because MEP's are still in their infancy. If 2005 becomes the real Year of the Multi-Editor Project, then it may really be something special.
