Yeah, I understand that, I've only made a few vids myself, but I understand being busy. I just feel that comments for your own video are important the way an advertisement for a Hollywood movie is important. Not on the same scale of course, but how many people are drawn to a movie just by its title?

And don't get me wrong, I'm not asking people to write novellas here. I just want to say that I think it's important for a creator to let their audience know a little bit about the work that they've created. Even if it's only a little blurb about where the idea came from, or why they made one choice over another. The little details really do matter, at least to some viewers, like me.

Generally, if a creator put a lot of thought, time, and effort into a video, they're going to have a lot to say about it.

I'm sure there are videos floating in the database with few or no comments on them that do indeed rule, but it must be some sort of fluke or something. >_>

On a side note, though, I usually don't actually read the comments until I've seen the video at least once, and then I'll watch the video once more after I've read the comments.

I personally like writing comments, I treat it like a little behind the scenes look at my video. As for reading them, it depends on what kind of mood I'm in. A good portion of the time I'll see a huge, detailed series of paragraphs and skip right over them. If I really like the video I'll go back a read up, or if I'm just in a reading type of mood.

Why Bother writing comments?
I've write them for every video (except the REALLY dumb ones).

And no one reads them.
I get stuff like

"The video is good, but I'd love to see the movie that trailer is based off of. Whats the actual title of it? Whos in it Etc. I don't recognize the voices"

It would seem that those offending individuals are the polar opposite of the preceding posters.

I can attest to the fact that my time is very important, with my overbearing job, as it is. I heavily weigh my decision on the creator comment as to whether viewing it is in order or not. And all that additional information on production/editing is always appealing

The only reason I write them. Is cause I gotta have something to do while it's uploading.

Nothing worth writing = Nothing worth watching

It´s as simple as that

Shouldn't an AMV be able to deliver a message without a writup explaining it? It's kinda sad to think that people wouldn't be able to appreciate a good video because they required cliffs notes to understand it.

With all the similar responses on this thread, I'm suddenly feeling the need to prove all y'all wrong.

... Not that that means I'll actually do it. :|
