I usually get that in short spurts. I'll love something for 3 days, and then once I've moved on and topped that further down the timeline, suddenly the earlier part lost all intrigue. :(

It gets to the point where I can't stand anything I've just done, cause I looped the piss out of it and could write an essay on its flaws. Thanks a lot, college education. :x

That's what I do too.

I do the exact opposite. After spending a long time on a particularly difficult edit I watch it once and then jump up and feel like the best AMV editor in existence for a few seconds, congratulate myself, maybe do a little dance. Then I sit right back down and keep editing, trying to ignore the perturbed glances of my roommate.

As for whole videos I tend to keep them around forever, tweaking this or that. At first I watch it a lot, later not so much as I can't get around seeing the flaws that are to inherent to fix.

I know what you mean I'm going through it right now with my most recent amv and I edit maybe like 3 words for lipsync which takes me close to a half an hour now, and spend 15 minutes watching it. OMG! But anyway your not the only one. I have to get back to work and watch in loops.

I've always found that odd, since after I finish a video I seldom watch it repeatitively... I mean, I've delt with it for weeks/months, why would I want more?

I'll edit a major section then watch the entire video so not only do I get an idea of how the edit looked itself, I also get an idea how the edit looks with whatever other sections I've finished. It's not a pride thing though but rather making sure I don't get so engrosed in small details that I forget the broad overview. No, my pride doesn't kick in till about two days after uploading something when it suddenly tells me the video sucked.

I'll watch the section I just edited to make sure it came out right, but I won't loop it unless I have to in order to get Premiere to play it without dropping an unacceptable number of frames.

I'll also watch larger sections occasionally to make sure the bigger picture still looks the way I want to. Usually when I do this, I end up giggling a lot. (And that's usually because I threw some stupid little joke in (like Xellos) and no matter how many times I see it, it still makes me laugh. Whether that's out of funniness or just out of its sheer absurdity is something I don't think about.)

And then after a week or so, I never watch it again.

They really are that painful.

I have been in this process since the end of June I believe. I took a long break on this video that I am working on now but I would always watch what I had. It would tease me. I would say, "What's gonna happen next? Why am I teasing myself so much?" It's not pride until I finish the video. Before that I'm giving myself a bad mind job I guess for motivation to finish. (Sometimes that works and other times it doesn't.) I might as well watch again now until 9:30. lol
