If the people asking those questions couldn't find and read the forum rules, the sticky threads, and the ever-lovin' how-to guides, what makes you think any more of them will find and read this thread?

Adobe is the devil....

Seriously though Adobe Premier Pro cost close to 700$ (last I cheeked from the Adobe site). For that price one should expect it to import my peanut butter, jelly, bread, and then have it exported as a complete sandwich toasted and cut in half. Nah, screw that I want a 4-course meal served by a French maid.

. The point I was trying to make was that it is impossible for a newbe
to know what's right from what's wrong:. even seasoned pro's agree that "no one guide is complete!"
. There was a time when everyone wanted a step-by-step written booklet on
how to make AMV's and no one has ever completed one! - why?
? where are the pictures - showing the process ?
? where are the do's and don'ts with codec's ?
? what filters work best with each other ?
?? who set's the standards as a guidelines to others ??

-or- am I looking for something that can not be explained?
? what's a color smeer ?
? why do my audio encodes distort on playback ?

yatta yatta yatta . . . all I'm saying is that "we need some useful guides written
and we would prefer that nothing is left to chance when they get done with them!"

Both AD&E's and VicBond's guides have plenty of pictures, last I checked (probably Vic's more so than AD&E's).

I know EADFAG goes over codecs pretty completely. At least all the common ones.
post-it wrote:? what filters work best with each other ?
Again, EADBAG covers this pretty well, at least the common filters. Those who care to learn about more can always pore through the AVISynth documentation and the Doom9 forums.

I don't even know what this question is supposed to mean.
post-it wrote:? why do my audio encodes distort on playback ?
That's what the forums are for, to handle exception scenarios like that.

And what everyone else on this thread is trying to say is that we already have useful guides and FAQ written (and many of the other common problems are addressed on the forums, repeatedly).

After having read this, I'm seriously beginning to wonder if you've even read the guides everyone else keeps linking to. All that stuff you said about a step-by-step AMV process -- it IS all there, in one convenient location. How much easier to find do you want us to make it?
