Have you ever seen Puni Puni Poemy? Those are hardwired into that series of scenes, because they aren't saying anything useful, be it in Japanese or English. This is from the DVD.

You know, they sell Adobe Premiere. Weird, huh?

I personally have no problem with subs in AMVs. Doesn't bug me.

And often it enhances the coolness of certain parts of the song involved.

Fine example of an AMV with subtitles:

I think he mighta been talking about Adobe Premiere 6.0 specificly, Which I tried to order straight from the manufactor via a TAX I.D. But came to no aval. Also I tried several retail outletts and the only place I could find to carry it was used at a college campus.

Subtitles are really not that hard to deal with you just dont use the footage with subtitles. You may or may not know but the #2 video on this site, Toushi by my good friend jimmy used over 70 episodes of the naruto fansubs and there isnt a single subtitle in it. As far as cropping them out, some times it works but most of the time it just makes the footage look all stretched out and stupid. Of course using the DVD's will always be better but using 70+ episodes worth of raw DVD footage would be next to impossible (if you could even get ahold of them and be willing to pay for them) with any less than the top of the line computer with a massive HD and lots of time we dont have.

But yes you should deffinitely try your hardest to not have subtitles in your video, all I know is it didnt seem like a big deal to me with my first videos but now that I look back they would be so much better without the few parts with subtitles.

Yes, subtitles are always hated, unless they have a definite purpose or to point-out something.

Fansubs are never good, that's why we all need to use HQ DVD-Rips

Yes, I know about it, and It's kinda bad since a guy thought that they were original DVD-Rips and he never said they were fansubs.

Bah, anyway, it's a good video with a decent quality, so It's not that bad.

Why not just download a subtitle remover? They do exist just check google.com
I think there is a plugin for Virtual Dub that removes subtitles (not sure on that though) but yeah I dont use that, I rip from dvd's.
