i cant say i really enjoy linkin park videos, but they arent horrible, its just if people are going to suck at making videos, they could at least contribute something new, a song or band not listed, a anime, or rare selection of scenes that will at least partially get the viewers attention, instead of a "LBZ" video. i dont download any linkin park, buts its just a suggestion/challenge/however you interpret it, to try to introduce something new. at least its better than complaining.

Any misgivings you have toward using LP just seems like a matter of preference. Just be aware this sounds like a personal greivance. A contibution to the community would be...

1. To be more original in the artist you choose for AMVs...
2. Not to use anyone who gets hundreds of hits by artist (Evanescence does this as well, among others)
3. Use LP as a last resort and nothing else fits your idea.

a contribution to this community would for everyone to shut up about people doing what they want to do. there are no "rules". just do what the fuck you want to do and who gives a shit if someone else has a problem about it. You'll get no where if you try to make videos to please others. if i wanted (and i will) make a video to Evanescence, i'm not going to give a rats ass what mr. ihateyouandallthebandsyoulike thinks about it.

Yes, a contribution would be to accept everyone's choice to create whatever they choose.

Chances are that if people stopped making LP vids, those people would do one of two things: one, stop making videos because they have no other ideas (which ultimately is unfair, and not what this site really wants); or two, force themselves to create worse videos to more popularly "original" music (which might not be all that original if they haven't had exposure), which would be just as bad if not worse.

Or, really, a donation or site help would be, more literally, a site contribution.

You're also forgetting the whole point of the org, anyway. It's not catalog good videos so everyone can watch them, contrary to popular belief.

It's a database of all AMVs ever created. So even the bad ones are listed here, regardless if you like it or not.

Like Badmartialartist said, if you don't like it, stop complaining about it and don't use up bandwidth by downloading them.

No one is forcing you to download them anyway.

No, please don't misinterpret what I said.

I feel that anyone should do whatever it is they like. I will do the same, I think I speak for most of us when I say we don't do this to please anybody. I'm not suggesting catering to this kind of topic and letting it guide your creativity.

If you are going to try to be constructive, say something to the effect of one of these...

I don't buy into elitism, I happen to like Evanescence AMVs, Linkin' Park AMVs, if the visual content is what can be considered good. Song artist has no place in an argument, period. People should be responsible enough not to download what they don't like. Don't stress over other members of a community you joined making AMVs to songs you considered played out. No antagonism. Just tranquility please. (and I do agree with you, pwolf, I may just make an Evanescence AMV if my muse should strike me so)
