I really like DBZ music videos, but it has to be a well done one. I dislike quickly made and no effort put into music videos, it just so happens that most of them are DB, DBZ and DBGT music videos. You have to remember, people like new and fresh stuff. It keeps them on the edge of their seat. With so many DBZ music videos, there is almost nothing new to make. They're basically all the same, any song added on to a whole bunch of action. There are some that all those action scenes make sense, but most don't. We're just tired of the same old thing. ^_^

I thought that was ok. it was good to watch once or twice. Maybe even again, to get a good laugh. But nothing to watch over and over like a well done music video.

I would spend any extra cash on a DBZ DVD collection, but I wouldn't spend money on bandwith to download the AMVs. Repetitive...kick this guys ass...kick that guys ass....sure, there's plenty of action, but no idea, no originality except for a few stars.

Ah krikes, my friend was going to buy the whole collection on DVD. Since you buy the whole thing in a package, you got a 15% discount... so it was only around $1200. And he is still considering. And I figure he'll still be considering for many years until he decides he doesn't like DBZ any more.

As for me, I don't mind DBZ vids. I did get sick of 'em because there were just too many and I couldn't filter out the good from the bid. MeriC has made some good ones. Scott's is my favorite so far. NeoGohan's were the first that I really liked.
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

Geez man, you might have just as well have read my mind. lol Those are definitely some of the top knotch music videos. Not saying that you other DBZ vid creators aren't good, but these creators made stuff that smacked you in the face and said, "hey, I'm a great music video!". In a way.
To just describe them a litle, Scott's had amazing editing and timing, NeoGohan's fell together and fit perfectly and MeriC's were very original.

Yeah, there are a glut of dbz vids, but a couple months back, i had a conversation with a really nice lady about a similar topic and tend to be practical about this sort of thing. DBZ is the most popular and extensive anime on U.S. TV right now (though Hamtaro has seriously closed the gap, but not totally).

In any case, I view these as just an extention of modern anime fandom coupled with the fact a lot more young anime fans have access to computers w/ editing gear in their homes now. If such were the case when I got into anime seriously, my first AMV would probably one of thousands of Robotech footage done to "Danger Zone" by Kenny Loggins.

I've seen a few good DBZ vids though. For Example:
Fight Club "This is Your Life"
Meow Mix
Dueling Banjos
Dragon Bebop Z (Though this is because I seemed to be the only one who knew where the song came from when it was shown at Anime Central. ^_^)

Every year has a new show that's gets seriously overused. Eva's had its time, and now Trigun seems to be the main vehicle (or maybe Kenshin. hmm...). I say we encourage the fans, let 'em create, have fun and explore what anime and editing have to offer. ^_^
