It requires to be quite insane.... Both Animethon and AnimeEvolution for example this year have a total of 110 entires and I have two computers converting/Rendering, etc and that's just the prep work... And Yes, I treat every video like it was my very own and do the best job I can with it (That is with the source provided and it comes in every size and codec!)VegettoEX wrote:If you're talking for a convention...
It's a lot of work. It requires a lot of hardware (computer AND non-computer), it requires a lot of patience, it requires a pretty solid technical knowledge of digital video, it requires a lot of dedication, it requires... a lot more. It's not something I would suggest anyone jump into or consider unless you're damn serious about it.
Don't get me wrong, I love doing it... and I'll continue to do it. As an AMV editor myself, I like to think I know how I'd want my video treated and such for a convention's contest... and I really go out of my way to do so for the people who submit. It really isn't something that just anyone should (could?) do, even if they really wanted to.
Then there is the event itself. The most important thing there is BACKUP BACKUP... have a backup plan incase the primary player/media decides to go on you...
