Free Webhosting?

Speaking of the carrot, or donut rather, I checked and we're halfway to the cost for starting it up. At this rate, we'll have it in 3 months or so. Whoop! Keep those pledges coming!

jeez kids... one comment... i was talking bout having any free webhosting that actually works. ive found that there are many free webhosting sites, just none that will let you upload a .WMV... oh yeah and im in COLLEGE... its not my fault i get angry when people dont understand.

don't get angry if ppl tell u to check out other threads, which may have answers to ur questions. other ppl already asked a bunch of the same questions as u did. these include: where to get free hosting, how to make an AMV, how to rip dvds, etc.

as for free web hosting, there are no free hosts that provide great service. they usually have frequent pop-up ads, a low/fixed transfer rate, a lotta down times; bad stuff like that.

if u have experience using winmx, then u should know how p2p programs work.. by transferring files using ur comp and ur internet connection in order to distribute files. u can do pretty much the same by creating an ftp server, and u get more administrative powers out of it.

go to www.download.com and search for "GuildFTP" to download a program that'll allow u to set up ur own server. it's very good if u have a static ip address, meaning that ur ip won't ever change. therefore, u can tell ppl where to d/l ur vidz, without having to give them a different ip address every time u log onto the internet again.

other than ftp, i haven't found a good, "free" way to distribute my (crappy) AMVs.. i heard a couple that ppl use, but it's filled with some of the bad stuff i've described in my second paragraph above.. u could try to contact someone from this site who might provide space for u. ur vid'z gotta meet up to their expectations too..

i recommend that u buy ur own hosting. i'm only 15 years old, but i've already decided to get a part-time job in order to pay for a car and hosting. i'm kinda skeptical that ur in college and u can't afford ur own hosting.. if u could ask for ur own web space at ur college, or if u have a good friend who'll hook ya up, i'm sure u can get it somehow.

yeah. i have tried to get some space from my friends and i have looked into many sites, but not having much money is a problem and i was just checking if there was anyone that knew of some free space. i can see that there is none to be fond now so i will refrain from looking. also, because of that mas productions guy and others that have been so unhelpful, i will never be seen here again. goodbye and thanks for the help.

You asked a question (one that is asked a lot) and MAS directed you to a thread about it. A sticky, no doubt, that will remain as one of the first three threads in this forum. Now, unless your phpBB settings are set to display the oldest threads first, I would think that you'd be able to see the Hosting sticky. Then again, maybe you just can't read
