Bingo, Sarah!
That's exactly what I'd say. Even if you aren't doing it for yourself, often one person really getting a kick out of the video is more than enough to justify the efforts. For myself - no, you know, I don't really care if the action kiddies or the technocrats aren't impressed with my videos. Because I don't care about them, even if they're a majority. On the other hand if a few people with taste for the weird enjoy it - my job is done.

Even with the worst of my videos, I know that there's gonna be at least a dozen people who get/like/appreciate what I was trying to do. And those are the people that (for me) generally count more than 1,000 immature fanboys.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I don't understand what you're worried about, I thought your AMV
was very good. Sure, the pacing and the sync could be tighter,
but you managed a good match between the song and the visuals
and it was very charming. The effects were simple, I didn't mind
them. In fact, if FX are not your forte just forget about them and
focus on what you're trying to say instead. Here, this AMV was made
over ten years ago, on two VCRs, and it still beats 99% of the stuff
made nowadays on sheer depth of feeling:

Don't be insecure, don't worry about what other people think. If
you put your heart into it someone will appreciate it. I know I did.
