I notice you don't see many partial AMV's. Meaning video's only using a segment of a given song etc...
Is this something frowned on by the AMV community?
I want to have more fun making things that'll make you chuckle and other video's drawing a connection most probably would of over looked instead of a full length AMV of an anime someone's done already a million times to a song someone's already done before.
I don't want to be stuck doing what has been done before and have more fun and creative freedom.
I have an idea of just creating several clips every so often and have em connected like as if someone was watching TV and changed the channel part way through a song. I am even looking into getting the TV snow effect too.
I know I'm getting long winded and you all probably don't know what I'm asking, but let me try to sum it up.
Is an AMV any less if the creator just creates partial video's? Does and AMV have to be full length??

There are alot of amvs that use partial songs. Thats often how meps are done.
Different people make a video to part of a song and they combine them together. For an example you can check out AMV Hell. That has lots of segments made by different editors.
Ive also made videos myself that only use part of a song.

At the end of the day -you- are creating this amv, and its that very reason that makes it so unique to what someone else does. If -you- choose to use certain parts of a song and mesh it all together into a ball of multi-anime-music amv then go for it.
Personally I love the idea of using certain parts of a song or two.. three... ten. Well for me that's how an idea for an amv starts, the chorus or a certain verse works in an anime and it snowballs from there.
If you have trouble using a certain song in an amv and you end up forcing it into video just so you can kill time to get to that chorus you love so much... then it just isn't worth it, its not worth your time and its not worth ours.
