Alrighty then, I have just started making AMVs, and was wondering if anyone who has seen them have any advice for me. Also, does anyone have any good freeware for file conversion (vob to wmv)

Making an amv, is rather like being the director of a Broadway show, where you have a million dancers and each of them only knows one step.

Yo
My advice is have a plan. Don't plan on making a music video having no idea what song to use. In my opinion, the best music vids just "hit" you. You'll know what to do. By the way, I know this isn't the forum for this but if you want technical advice... I'll watch yours if you watch mine:

I'll agree with Blaku, but keep your plan loose enough so you can change if you need to. Know your music, Know your anime. The more you synch to the music the better. Play around, learn what you can do, practice makes perfect! Try to get feedback so you can improve. Force your "friends" to beta-test your vids before going public.

I use Windows Movie Maker 2, although some say it's crap, I think a clever editor can still do some nice things with it and it's free and easy to use for beginners.sir_leo_iii wrote:Thanks for those sugestions, but more specifically:
Any good video editting software (freeware prefered)?
Advice on lipsyncing
any technical problems with my videos alread out
For Lip-synching, I'd consult the guide. Basically, the concept is you're re-animating a scene. Get a scene where someone is speaking (preferably close up) and nothing else is moving in the scene. I take a still image of when the mouth is open and another when it is closed and just edit it so it's moving when the voice is there and closed when not speaking. Takes a LOT of patience and practice. You could spend all day just getting a five second bit the way you want it.
