I dunno if Lina Inverse of Slayers would work, I think she's teenage and occasionally uses a sword along with magic powers.

Motoko, (I think is the name) from Love Hina, she's a descedant of samarais and has a tough attitude. Little on the older looking side, but should be under the limit.

I suggest Caska from Berserk, I don't see her enough in AMVs and the other characters people names are either ones I don't know or ones I've seen too much.

12 year old with lots of blood:
Dokuro from Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan (club-to-death angel Dokuro Chan)

She uses a club / mace weapon.

18/20 year old ass-kicker:
Layla Ashley from Avenger

She uses fists and a bladed melee weapon.(I forgot what its called)

They're both my heroes.
