silver_moon- Thanks for the videos, I'll give 'em a watch.
Stryker- Where in Central Illinois do you live? I was born in Springfield, and I currently live in Carbondale (three hours south of Springfield).
Want to make an AMV TV show, but I need opinions on this.

All three of my videos are currently encoded in 704x480 and all, and I would be more than happy if you would broadcast them anywhere. In addition, if there were any kind of a problem, I would not mind if you screwed with it to make it work.
They are all availible at www.originalskin.org but more specificly:
http://www.originalskin.org/Original%20 ... 20Lies.mpg
http://www.originalskin.org/Original%20 ... 0Dance.mpg
and
http://www.originalskin.org/Original%20 ... %20See.mpg
good luck.

It's all in the eye of the beholder...nahhh, it's all in the eyes of the creator.

I'd be happy to do it, but once I remaster the two videos I currently have in my profile. My Close Friends Trigun video may not look right at 720x480 because the source is 368x240 on most of them. Only episode 9 is 720x480. And anyways, I'd have a hard time keeping the video quality at the same as the DVD files unless I RARed/ZIPed it and burned it. I exported my Deluxe Bebop video at 720x480, and it was around 2GB in HuffYUV RGB. So once I remaster both videos, I'd be happy to burn the files into HuffYUV/RARed HuffYUV and snail mail them to you.

Thanks for the support, everyone. I wish this idea would have panned out (stupid laws...)
I talked to our production manager about it again, and apparently she misunderstood what I was wanting to do earlier. Apparently, the law only allows about fifteen seconds or so of clips to be aired, not an entire music video. In her own words, "We'd get sued." So, it's no go.
-_-
Meh. Oh, well.

That's a real shame it didn't pan out for your campus programming, but it still is a great idea. I believe it can still be done but it would require a bit more paperwork, contacting, and all that jazz to get the permission to do it. And while it may be a bit to much for college students to pull off just yet I think you should stick with it. Continue with you research, maybe even send an inquisituve letter to an anime company. An AMV is a tribute to these series, and if anything it'd be advertising the company wouldn't have to pay for, if it's done right. Paying royalties and giving credit to the supplier of the series would be essential.
Look into it, I'll lend what support i can (i'm a bit of a lazy bastard, but hey) and any vids i make that you enjoy ( unfortunatly i have yet to find a place to host my only creation so far)
Good luck
