An Evolution AMV that matches the lyrics

Post by Efreet IX » Fri Jul 29, 2005 1:14 pm

Ever since I first heard Evolution by Ayumi Hamasaki I thought it would make a great AMV. Many were made, eventually, and some of them have been pretty good, but as far as I can tell none of them have had any success matching the action to the Lyrics. Actually the title of Heading for a New Centruy makes me think they might have, but I haven't seen Gungrave so I really can't tell.

What I'd really like to see would be an AMV uses Evolution, and makes use of the lyrics as well. It would probably have to be subtitled, but oh well. The anime I'd use would be Rah Xephon because the correspondences with the lyrics are so obvious.

Start of with relativly tranquil scenes from Tokyo, then flying planes as it starts to speed up leading to the fight over tokyo in the first episode.
Evolution wrote:It's true, isn't it? It seems as though
we're headed for a new century. It's miraculous:
This is something you can only taste once.
Let's remember one more time.
Images of the island that show it takes place in the future. Lets remember would probably be Ayato disapearing backwords into that glowy field that lets him enter Rah Xephon from the command center.
Evolution wrote:On the day we arrived on this Earth
we were somehow happy,
and somehow it hurt.
We were crying
wow yeah wow yeah wow wow yeah
Lots of ways to do it. If it were me I'd introduce Rah Xephon for the "We were crying wow yeah" part and have people in the other sections.

And so on. There are lots of lyrics, and I think its pretty easy to connect things. I'd probably have Haruka show up first at "I've arrived at these times, but I met you" and recap their relationship from there.

I'd really like to see this made, and if that means making it myself so be it, though I don't have the software yet and I won't have enough free time to do it for many months. If you want to take this idea instead, please do.
