I am looking for the FIRST AMV in the history of Anime!

According to popular lore (and the guy who made it), it was Gun-damn set to Styx's "Mr. Roboto", made some 2 decades ago. Not available that I know of here, but I'm sure he'll be back on one of the AMV panels at Otakon again before too long.

And I'll be there waiting with Bingo cards...

You might be referring to this. As far as I know, it's the first attempt to put anime to music by American singers. Dated 1961.

It's HORRIBLE, and can usually be found on Ebay or the like, or I could be talked into giving my copy away.

If you're talking about the first AMV on the .org then.. This is the lowest nubered entry in the database.

But are you sure about this 1961 dated AMV? I mean, I thougt it will be more difficult to find the first one

Have you any closer idea, where can I download it?

If you're talking about the first fan-made AMV, then I think Jim K...I forgot his last name, is responsible for the first. It was Yamato set to All You Need is Love, I think. I can check when I get home. I have it on tape, but am in no position to distribute it. Sorry =(
