I storyboard almost all of my AMVs before hand, so I have a general idea of what I want to acoomplish with a video going in, and then once I've completed laying out the video, I consider it 'done' when I can watch it all the way through without stopping and saying, "that beat needs to be retimed, or it'd look better if I did X at Y." I usually think of other things after it's done, but once I start distributing it, I feel that's time to let it go (insert George Lucas riff here).
