New to making AMVs, having a problem, HELP!

Hi, nice to meetcha ^_^

I'm trying to enter an AMV in a AMV contest in April. I downloaded a guide on making AMVs and everything went just dandy until I tried to download AviSynth. I can download it, but everytime I try to run it, it just tries to reinstall itself.

Someone please help *puppy dog eyes*

Ummm yeah, the only AVISynth-related .EXE file you'll find is the installer.

You don't open AVISynth like you open a normal program; it does most of its work behind the scenes, translating your .AVS script files into video information that other applications can understand.

Yea, you don't need to run .AVS at all, although I'm sure there's been some GUI or just script-maker programs around. But generall, AVS is something you use completely via scripts.

It sounds daunting until you realize that .AVS scripts are little more than text files consisting of a few straightforward lines. Read the guide Scintilla linked, that'll explain everything...
