Out of idle curiosity, do you mean "effort" as in "I have to strain my brain to do this, really think long and hard about the process and the possible outcomes, put my heart and soul into this task" - or do you mean "effort" as in "it takes for-bloody-ever to do this effect, and wow is it tedious beyond belief, I should get paid to spend this much time doing something that will last for under two seconds in the finished project, jeeze I wish it were over"?

Effort does not equal time.

It's easy to do tedious work. Actually *creating* the effects, coming up with the concept of the effects - that would take effort. Putting them into practice with the busy-work, that's just time.

Just to add to this.
When I create my effects.. most isn't just tedious work. alot is the concept/visualization/design and how it integrates into the flow of what im working on. how things affect what im going to do later on. then come the questions of HOW it gets done and the tedious work involved sometimes in getting it to look perfect. I can easily say that its the integration thats the hardest part.. i've sketched out tons of designs to only throw them away because i had no need for it.

AMVFreak, that's the chart I meant when I said "don't make me get out the chart." (hm, I should link that in my sig or something. *polishes it*)
