Couple of Ideas I've been having

Post by Radical AdZ » Fri Nov 05, 2004 1:25 pm

I've been a fan of AMVs for a while but have never had the stones, the time or the experience to make one myself. However, i do have a few good starting points that people might like.

1. A Neon Genesis Evangelion AMV set to 'The End' by The Doors. And it MUST have the 'whup-whup-whup-whup' sound effects from the beginning of Apocalypse Now.

2. An AMV using the Sands Theme from Once Upon A Time In Mexico. Maybe Wolfwood from Trigun, Spike/Vicious from Cowboy Bebop, Alucard from Hellsing and/or (Blind) Kiriyama from Battle Royale.

Will post more as they come.

that WOULD be a cool vid if done right.....but its not only a very long song....but there is not much lyrics in it....so most of it would be bland instrumentals.....therefor it might be kind of boring.

Good point. I considered this very possibility with the intention of having the longer instrumental interspersed with dialogue, either from NGE or AN Redux, to break up the longer gaps. If someone could nail one Duvall or Brando's speaches in the vid, and make it relevant at the same time, I would give two thumbs up.

Duvall Speaches, and NGE/Apocalypse Now Character Comparison

Post by Radical AdZ » Fri Nov 05, 2004 2:21 pm

Depends on the version. He has a few extra minutes in the redux version. I guess he has one big speach, the 'napalm in the morning' one, and a few good soundbites. I think Shinji would be appropriate as Willard (Martin Sheen), Brando could be played by Gendo, (again, appropriate,) Kensuke could do Duvall's napalm bit, (for purely comedic purposes, ;) ) and you could just assign various characters to each other with varying continuity, with the exception of the ones I just mentioned. Thing is I really think that u should allow for a few long instrumentals, and take the edge off by blowing them away with what you can do with the images.
