Thanks alot for that guide TaranT its by far the easiest to follow when you have never used avisynth and virtualdub, i recommend it for beginners like myself. The A&E guides are just too informative for beginners, I can see how they would be a huge help when you actually understand what their on about :D

the Read ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guides wasn't too hard to follow but it would've been nice if i actually got to use the avs file instead of ALWAYS getting the unrecgonized exception

Make sure there are no spaces in the path.

was that for me??? well...thanx for the advice but i have already been up and down the forum and spent literally days on trying to make it work but no luck... :(

i have recently viewed vicbonds new guide (mentioned earlier in the thread) but haven't got to put in action. i'm hoping since i uninstalled everything that when i walk-thru w/ this guide that it will work...plus it uses avisynth 2.5 which i don't think i had previously....

so much confusion....maybe there should be a guide "AMV making for Dummies" (like me  )

Glad to help, but just so there is no misunderstanding, I did not write or contribute to Vicbond007's guide in any way. I'm only pointing you to it. :)

And for SpLiF_3d and others, the guides are not the only way to make AMVs, or even high quality AMVs. There are many vid makers, myself included, who have never used avisynth and who still get by just fine. Other methods can be much simpler, but they often - not always - require spending some money for either hardware or software.
