Romantic Relationship-type AMV?

Post by CoolMatty » Mon Oct 04, 2004 8:58 am

This is really in the planning stages, but I've been wanting to do a mix video for a while. I have a few songs picked out, and a couple more left to go. But the idea goes as follows:

Find an anime with a good portion of relationship between a guy and a girl. (Big problem for me, most of the anime in my database is simply action, like Naruto, Evangelion, Witch Hunter Robin, etc)

Mix the songs. I plan on using about a minute to a minute and a half of each song, usually a verse and the refrain, whatever works.

The songs will be mixed in a specific order, so that it details their relationship.
The relationship will start off with a serious argument, something along the lines of maybe a hard breakup or something, with words that should not have been mentioned.
Then it will move on to songs about how he misses her, and how she wants nothing to do with him.
But then the music changes, building on her warming back up to him again.
Then finally, the proclamation of love at the very end, possibly with a duet song of some sort.
All the songs will trade off, with Guy lead in one song, then a Girl lead in another.

Most of these songs will be instantly recognizable, with pop and movie tracks.

But as for suggestions, what does everyone think, and any ideas on a couple songs for the beginning and the end songs (duets, first being hating eachother or something, and the last being in love), and a suitable anime?

Lessee, a break-up song and make-up song?

For Make up- How about "Don't Let go" by Bryan Adams and Sarah McGlocklan
Or Elvis Presley's "Are you Lonesome Tonight?" - beautiful

For Break-up: Some Classics -
"You Don't Own Me"
"respect" - aretha franklin
"think" - aretha franklin

from the guy's perspective:
"jealous guy" john lennon
"you can't do that" beatles
"Another Girl" paul mccartney

"I Will Survive" - is about someone trying to be strong after a bad break up

"Hit the Road, Jack"

"50 ways to leave your lover"

"My boyfriend's back"

Those are some great suggestions. I don't know all of them (lots of oldies there, I see :D), but I'll try and weed through them for the most fitting.

I Will Survive - Fits, but I don't like the song personally.

Hit The Road, Jack - Ah yes, a classic. But I think it might be a bit too upbeat.

50 Ways to Leave Your Lover - I'll have to check this one out, don't know it by name at least.

My Boyfriend's Back - I already have a good song for that, but yet another good oldie :D

Don't Let Go - Don't recognize that one, I'll check up on that.

Are You Lonesome - That might work. I'll have to see if the beat fits the surrounding songs.

You Don't Own Me - Not the type of song I was going for. The plan for the video is for them to be really together, then something will tear them apart. This song is a bit too "possessive" or something, just doesn't ride with me. Good classic though :D

Aretha Franklin - Don't know any of those songs by name :/

You Can't Do That - A beatles song I don't know? Blast it!

Jealous Guy - Hrmm, lemme look at that one

Another Girl - You really like the beatles, even if they aren't together :D I'll have to check on this one also.

Lots of great song ideas, I'll have to check up on the ones I don't know. Thanks a lot!

:D Raised on the Oldies - If people are looking for song suggestions, that's usually what you'll get from me. :D I like to see more oldies as AMVs.
50 Ways to Leave Your Lover - I'll have to check this one out, don't know it by name at least.

I believe it's by Paul Simon. I imagine you're capable of finding lyrics to most of these tunes, if there's any that look interesting, I can look through my collection to see if I can help out with an mp3.
Don't Let Go - Don't recognize that one, I'll check up on that.
From the Spirit, Stallian of the Cimarron Soundtrack - See? Not all oldies.
Aretha Franklin - Don't know any of those songs by name :/
Aretha Franklin is the Queen of Soul, you would be wise to get to know her. Even if you can't use 'em, listen to these two songs.
You Can't Do That - A beatles song I don't know? Blast it!
It's a little known little ditty from A Hard Day's Night soundtrack, cut from the movie. My favorite Beatles website is "www.iamthebeatles.com". Has lyrics to All the Songs, as well as little background on almost all of them.
Jealous Guy - Hrmm, lemme look at that one

Another Girl - You really like the beatles, even if they aren't together :D I'll have to check on this one also.
Oh yeah. Anywho, this is Paul's song, but still a Beatles song from the Help! soundtrack.

Lots of great song ideas, I'll have to check up on the ones I don't know. Thanks a lot!
Be sure and let me know if I'm helpful, if I can check on any mp3's for (I have most beatles ones, I might have most of these tracks already on my comp somewhere.) Will enjoy checking out your vid, be sure and post here when you've got it together.
There's "Breakin Up is Hard to Do". I'll have to think if I can come up with any more back together songs.

I'm Looking Through You - Beatles - Check this one out, this might be good.

There's a lot of "Crap, I let her get away" type moping guy kinda songs out there. Here's a bunch of generic songs in various stages of relationships.

Beatles -
We can work it out
Wait
You Won't See Me
(You've Got to) Hide Your Love Away
Baby's in Black
Misery
I'm a Loser

Others -
Listen to the Rhythm of the Falling Rain
Runaround Sue
Big Girls Don't Cry
Take Good Care of my Baby

Hmm - Okay, what "Suspicious Minds" by Elvis?

"You've Lost that Lovin Feelin"

"I Will" by the Beatles - a pretty song, could be good for a make up - still looking.
