I am 16 years old, I am just about to start my junior year at high school. I have benn doing AMV's for about 3 years now. When asked what I want to do with my life, I can never anwser, but what I do is think about the things I enjoy doing the most that could possibly connect with a career. The first thing that pops into my mind is making AMV's. The fact that I am posting this now is weird because I just finished talking with my friend about this. He goes to college in USC, right now his major is undecided but like 150 other undecided people he wants to get into Film Production, all because of when he made AMV's. (This guy made very, very good AMV's.) He decided to turn it into something he wanted to do for the rest of his life, so I turned to him and basically said. "Listen, right now, I consider one of my best hobbys to be making AMV's like you, and now I have to decide what I want to do in life and this comes to mind, I know that drove you to USC, what advice to you have?" and I'll copy and paste his anwser, with a name change:

My Friend [11:46 PM]: Seriously, do what makes you happy,
My Friend[11:46 PM]: anything else will leave you feeling empty.

So, I decided to take this little hobby, and this equipment I bought (pretty minor, not too expensive stuff, and turn my hobby into a career. I have a lot of planning to do ahead of me, but I figure, making AMV's is definitly one of my favorite things to do, so why not do something more that just a hobby with it.

Then again, half of the people here arn't going to read this whole post and call me a retard, so I have wasted 3 minutes of my precious time typing this. Oh well, I'm bored.

I just recently bought a new gaming rig, err parts to a gaming rig i'm modding out and designing, its going to have a 256 mb graphics card a 3.5 gig processor, 3 150gig hard drives, 4 ports of ram each with 512 ram cards in each, making the ram in 2048 mb. The case alone is going to have clear bullet proof panels on all 6 sides that are detachable like legos making a wall, with metal cuplinks to hold each other, sort of like each part or wall is held together by the other, it's going to have a large electric pulse light a strobe light, and a black light and a revolving disco globe all placed in it with their own power source for each add on. On the sides I've got several Final Fantasy characters, like Cloud Strife, Tifa, Aries, Yuna, Vincent Valentine, and my own versions of the Knights of the round plus other additional characters that will be machine painted to both sides of the glass case. I have three large fans for it, each with their own power source, and a surge protector graphed to the back part of the case, and additional ports for ram upgrades and hard drive expansion. So far the assemblance of the case and its paintings is almost done, in a few days i will pick up the painted sides and start the construction of my AMV designing and gaming rig. The glass alone was the expensive part, which added to a total of about 1,250, and even more for sizing and customized shapes for it. The main core parts range from about 330 for the video card, the ram was like 120 per stick, a total of 4 sticks, the lights that go in the machine alone goes to about 130 after i got them from the shop called Boscos off of Diamond Bulivard in Anchorage Alaska where i reside. The fans ran about 60 a piece, and the mother board i got from my uncle Paulie who is a senior engineer for Nokia, so that was free, and all the parts are compatible, but overall, time, effort, and price added up to around 4,025 so far. I also bought a heat sensor not to long ago to watch the processor to see if it overheats or not. But yeah, there are people out there like me...who take the time and the overuse of money on pcs, to establish a foothold, or rather a vangaurd for AMV design, but really its not going to be for amv design lol, infact is more or less likely for gaming, which is probably the more primarily reason to spend the extra cash on pcs. But yeah, its a hobby in the end, just like fishing (some guys have row boats, others have bayliners, and others have yahts)
My strength is not that of the mountains, nor is as vast as the plains, nor does each wave crash upon the shore and thunder like lightning into my viens...but that which i can muster, and that which i will, i will bring myself foward into this world like no man has done before...
