flaming the guy who wants to use wmm isnt necessary, and telling him to use something thats advanced as adobe or vegas would prolly make him want to give up instantly, iv seen some really good amvs made with wmm and some crappy ones made with adboe and vegas.
Novice: WMM/2
Intermediate: Vegas
Advanced: Adobe
it would be too overwhelming for an entry level person to use adobe, like telling a child to sell crack or an 80yr old to run a mile. Id suggest this, play with wmm for a bit just for the basics and after you get the hang of it move onto vegas. Even tho its limited, it depends on the persons skill level and how much that person wants do or can do.

Ha ha, no it isn't. As long as your at an age where you can sit down and focus you can use Adobe. And I don't think your little list is agreeable to some. I know there's a lot of great AMVers that use Vegas as their primary editing software.
Anyways - just focus and take a couple days checking out all the features of adobe (you can dl the tryout version from http://www.adobe.com if you didn't know) to see if you can do it. It only took me about 8 hours MAYBE to figure out the basics of adobe premiere pro. It's really not that hard. Just miticulous. It takes a while to figure out all the framerate stuff, and the righ rendering process, etc (sorry guys - no, I didn't read the guide on a lot of it just because I'm better with trail and error most of the time. Helps things stick with me.). But after you learn that stuff, it's just creativity from there.
