I Need Help Coming Up With Lyrics!

Okay I'm working on a Chrno Crusade AMV using the karaoke version of Blink 182's "Adam's Song" only the thing of it is I'm rewriting the lyrics to match the anime but I'm kinda stuck. So like, here's the original first part:

I never thought, I'd die alone
I laughed the loudest who'd have known
I traced the cord back to the wall
No wonder it was never plugged in at all
I took my time, I hurried up
The choice was mine I didn't think enough
I'm too depressed, to go on
You'll be sorry when I'm gone

And here's the revised version I've come up with so far:

I always knew, I'd die with you
the one I love close in my arms
I traced my love back to the time
when you gave up yours to fill in mine
To save my soul, to find a way
the choice was yours what could I say
I'm too in love, to go on
without you it's just not enough

Now, obviously it's not perfect, but the part I'm having a LOT of trouble with is the very last part. I've found that if the last word doesn't end in one syllable it just sounds wrong when I sing it, so I've been tryin to come with alternatives.

So far all I've got is like, "I'll be so sorry if yer gone"...which I don't think sounds quite right. I also thought of like, "without you I'd rather be gone", which I sorta like, but the "rather" part just sounds funny when I try singing it, even if I do it really fast (again I think it's a problem with the number of syllables).

So um...does anyone have any suggestions or ideas (for any part really).

The only thing that comes to mind at 2AM is "without you I'm gone for true", which is a little awkward sounding. However, the number of syllables fits. Maybe it's the lack of sleep gettint to be, but it seems to fit.
