Which player works best?

Post by particle-woman » Wed Jun 16, 2004 5:51 pm

I feel really stupid for asking about this, but my best friend came over and tried to download an AMV on my conputer (but from her account on this site) and it played the song, but no video. I think I've got a windows player.
I just wanted to know this so that i'm downloading actual videos and not just the audio.
"Hi, how are you?"
Yup, that's me...never met a stranger in my life.

It doesn't matter what player it is, although most people will tell you Media Player Classic or ZoomPlayer are the best. What it seems like the problem is is a codec issue. What format is the video in? If it's an AVI, there's two main codecs which could fix your problem: DivX or XviD. Here's links to both of them:

Thank you, but I have no idea what you're talking about.
'Sokay, I think I have at least one friend who does, I'll ask him. Thanks, again! :D

Just go to the websites that I linked to in the other post, follow the instructions to get to the download pages, and then download and install the ones that they label as 'codecs'. Then try playing the video again to see if it worked.

do what Qyot27 said about getting the vid to play.

As far as players go, I personally prefer BSPlayer above all the rest for its small size, lots of options, and better visual quality than media player.

I mainly use Core, but that is because it can also play OGG and OGM files
