If you want to try something unusual, my parents had an album by a group called The Seekers which included the song "The Carnival is Over." I have never seen this on a CD, but the group was popular enough that I'm sure one must exist. In any case, I think with the proper use of symbolism and allegory, the carnival atmosphere and bittersweet ending of Spirited Away could be made to fit with the song very nicely.

Um, maybe "Ordinary Girl" from the cardcaptors soundtrack. The lyrics fit pretty well, but it very VERY sugary. It's from the firey card episode
