AMV community/video opinions/common courtesy/clarification

I've heard a few things through the grapevine lately from some friends about all the talk about elitism on these boards. Since I hang in the group of people commonly referenced by many members here, I just wanted to clear up a few things. Very few people suffer from elitism in my group of friends...those who do have voiced their dispositioned opinions here, and in my opinion, have made fools of themselves. This doesn't mean I disown them as friends, but I strongly disagree with discouraging others artistic efforts. If you take this art form seriously, take it seriously by yourself. Keep it for criticizing your own artform. If someone asks for help, be constructive, not an asshole.

I'd like to say that the elitism doesn't exist. That's what I said to myself at first...but the way people act on these boards leads me to think otherwise. The ones that brag about their accomplishments and ridicule others because they have no accomplished the same...should be ignored. Since life institutes no rules against boasting or being egotistical, the only weapon to be used against such people is ostracizing them. Ignore them completely. Continue doing what you love to do. If you produce a video that someone thinks sucks, good for them. That's their opinion.

I don't come to these boards very often anymore, but each time I do, there's always someone complaining about elitests and generalizing about an entire group of people that includes myself. I know most of these people on a personal level and most importantly myself. And I know that we do not act in the way which you think we do. But I cannot account for everyone's actions. Please do not think of us all as such an identity you've come to despise.
