can't get my ftp linking right

I've tried numerous combinations, but I can't get it right. I know it's something like this:
ftp://name:pass@ftp.members.lycos.co.uk/filename.avi

but it isn't working for me.

The only other option is that the video edit page in the link section is broken, and is telling me that I'm wrong even when I get it right.

Um... if its on lycos... uh... thats not your ftp, and im not surprised it wouldnt work

it's the UK lycos. I use it because it's free and gives me 50MB server space. I logged into it via my ws_ftp program and copy and pasted the FTP address.

However, if it has changed, or you know something I don't, then please divulge the secret to me.

I tried to use lycos once upon a time to host a video and I believe that video hosting is against the rules and regulations and even if you do get it to work they will delete your account/file.

Well I just used the local thing, so it's moot now.

And yes hosting is against their rules. I had an old account that got deleted. What happens is if a lot of people download your video then they send you warning e-mails saying that you use too much bandwidth. After like a month of warnings I got removed.
