An idea for easier distrubution of videos

Post by SephOWA » Thu Aug 15, 2002 6:11 pm

I see that there's an AIM chat room for the site, but I think that it would be a really good idea if someone made an IRC chat room and promoted it and got people to go there to trade AMVs. You can't really do stuff like that on AIM, and if you're using a router like I am, chances are you won't be able to send your video at all. However, there are some IRC clients (such as sysreset) that allow a workaround to the firewall. I know there's a lot of ho hum around here about getting a service where you can have your videos hosted. I think it would be much easier to create an IRC chat room and just have people advertise them there and people can download them through file servers.

I mean not everyone is willing to buy webspace to host a few 70 MB AMVs.

It's just a suggestion. :P

There is already an IRC chat room for AMVs.
"If someone feels the need to 'express' himself or herself with a huge graphical 'singature' that has nothing to do with anything, that person should reevaluate his or her reasons for needing said form of expression, possibly with the help of a licensed mental health practitioner."
