Watch VH1 or MTV for any amount of time and I think you'll agree that the "professionals" consider any type of lyric matching in a music video to be completely optional. (Even if it *is* about fluffy bears.)

In my opinion doesn't matter if the lyrics are matching or not

A viewer hav to try to FEEL WHAT the AMV creator is trying to show with the video, and some of those vids are better than the ones from ppl that just search for high scores
Nothing usefull here .

I agree. Whatever the creator wants to do. Although I *do* hate the videos where the creators don't match the lyrics through most of the video and then suddenly throw in random things that do.

"Oh wait! They said the word "tear" in the song! There's got to be a clip in here *somewhere* of someone crying! I'm such a genius!"

I mean that only for serious videos. Anything that's even remotely a comedy/fun/spoof/whatever is fine.

Well I've always been of the philosophy that matching the melody and
rhythm to the video is more important than matching the lyrics, but I
find that the lyrics can really help you structure a video, and make it
much easier to pull together a theme effectively.
